Dorothy Horton

September 9, 1935 - September 2, 2020 Dorothy Merle Horton, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Thomas Horton; mother Mary Pastel Warren; sister, Sarah Warren Robertson; sons, Thomas Phillip Horton and Paul Scott Horton. She is survived by her son, Glen David Horton (Lisa); daughter, Cynthia Ann Honeycutt (Joel); grandchildren, Andrea Renee Horton; Carly Elizabeth Pierce (Aaron); Sara Hadley Horton; Jeffrey Christopher Honeycutt (Dana); Charles Tyler Honeycutt; Joseph Ronnie Honeycutt (Olivia); great grandchildren, Justin Phillip Banks; Mikayla Jade Bowden; Johnnie Ruth Pierce; Abigail Faith Honeycutt; Joel Carter Honeycutt; Brynleigh Elaine Honeycutt; brothers, James Warren (Francis); Charles Warren (Peggy); and cousins, nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born on September 9, 1935, in West Blocton, Alabama. She graduated from West Blocton High School in 1953. Dorothy enjoyed flower gardening, taking care of her friends and neighbors, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. At Dorothy's request, there will be a private gathering of family at the graveside. The family would like to thank the staff of Self Health Care & Rehab Center in Hueytown, AL; ExpectCare Hospice; SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice; and Princeton Baptist Medical Center and Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care given to Dorothy, and for their outpouring of love and compassion.
